I upgraded to 11.04 already. Everything worked fine but after a few reboots suddenly the launcher and the top & bottom panel have disappeared. Anyone an idea how to solve this?

Hm, the same here. Only Classic works and now not even this, I think Compiz is somehow the culprit.

Hi!
Do a complete one:
Sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade -f
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -f
sudo aptitude install linux-image -f
Advise!

I can't believe this ... I waited until the official launch, downloaded the image, burned it on cd and made a complete fresh install ... all goes well for a couple of days and then the same happened again!!!

Personally I've found this to be the result of the deep coupling of the installed applications (i.e. Gwibber, Evolution, Empathy) with gnome-panel. Removing them removes both.
In my case, reinstalling gnome-panel, and simply running it gets us back up, but the removed software is again reinstalled.
