I'm a SUSE 9.2 user (no complaints about SUSE) but I've been following the Ubuntu project and when a friend needed a Windows reinstall I suggested Ubuntu instead. buntu installed on two crappy eMachine computers (desktop and a widescreen laptop with ATI video) with ease.

From now on Ubuntu will be my recommendation for other newbies/switchers out there. Outstanding work guys. :-D

I posted the details here (http://www.johnlittle.org/2005/02/ubuntu-installed.html) but the bottom line is Ubuntu installed on two crappy eMachine computers (desktop and a widescreen laptop with ATI video) with ease.
