Well, this is novel behavior: I'm working along in Ubuntu, then there seems to be a kind of flash in the background, and then suddenly all my workspace materials appear only on the first workspace. When I try to move my, say OpenOffice Writer file back to its original workspace and do anything to it, the workspace suddenly shifts back to the 1st workspace and I'm editing something else.
Restarting compiz doesn't put material back in their original workspaces, though it may prevent the shifting of workspaces when I move something and try to work on it.
I seem to have gotten this affliction only after a recent kernel update. Doesn't seem to affect my laptop ubuntu, though I'm not sure I've updated that recently.
Anyone else with this problem? Suggestions?
