I'm in the following situation. One of my servers where I have a Slackware installation just died. And I was wandering if it is possible to just plug in the HDD in another machine and start working? In theory this should work, right? As the linux kernel has all the major drivers in itself. Am I missing something? Is there any dependency on the distro I'm running?
