Can anyone advise me?

Have inherited this old laptop from a relative to mess around with, and wanted to try running Ubuntu on it.
Not sure if the spec will support it, so looking for someone to let me know whether it's worth attempting the installation.

Specs:
Dell Inspiron 1300
1.6ghz Intel Celeron M
512mb RAM
80gb HDD

Any feedback appreciated.

You might want to try and install Xubuntu. Its better for older hardware.

I had one with very similar specs that ran ubuntu lucid and maverick. Was very slow until I droped in a stick of ram. Ubuntu really needs 1 gig to be happy. Lubuntu will run great.
