Can I use the current FGLRX drivers with a Mobility Radon X2300 card on an HP6910p with Lucid?

Nope.

Catalyst 9.8 apparently supported X2300 cards, but not XORG 7.5.

Catalyst 11.3 apparently supports XORG up to 7.6, but not X2300 series cards.

FYI ... last Ubuntu version that allowed Catalyst drivers for your card was 8.10.
