I invested ~$3000 the other day in AMD. Should I hold, what do you think the Q1 reports are going to show?

Well, I don't know much about investing, but you could do a lot worse than what Warren Buffet does. He doesn't invest in a business unless he knows where it'll be in something like 30 or 40 years time. No Microsoft/Apple investor him.

Personally I'd take that money out and pretend you won a good hand of blackjack.

Hard to say. They haven't been doing well against Intel, but the Sandy Bridge goof allowed the to gain a little advantage. Even if earnings are low, I'd say hold at this point.

Yes, the reports turned out better than estimated. I'm at $204.63.

I would say, book your profits and reinvest.

Do either. Effectively, you have a 50% chance of winning. By the time you have the information to know what to do, its too late, somebody else will have capitalized on that information (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Efficient-market_hypothesis).
