So I know Ubuntu 10.10 uses the Gnome DE. But what Window Manager does it use?

As what I gather from linux. There are DE's, Window Managers, and File managers.

Also then if Ubuntu 11.04 uses Unity for DE. What does it use for a window manager?

For some reason i thought nautilus was a file manager not a window manager.

10.10 uses either Metacity or Compiz, and 10.04 uses the same. The new Unity interface is built on Compiz in 11.04.

DUH! Mybad.
You are right.

My apologies.

So, as Mike said..
Metacity , by default, would be the answer. lol

Sorry again. <3

Was just thinking of is it worth it for me to try out different window managers.
