Canon Pixma MX 420 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04.02 - Lucid Lynx

Help accepted. Drivers are needed for new Canon Pixma MX 420 64-bit on UbuStudio 10.04.02 - Lucid Lynx. I tried via CUPS but nothing came through.

Advise me if you can. vbgunz on this forum found MP250 drivers.

I downloaded drivers using michael's ppa described on http://www.ubuntubuzz.com/2011/06/download-install-canon-printer-driver.html. Do they plug in automatically? are there next steps?
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:michael-gruz/canon
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cnijfilter-mx420series

it appears no problem arose applying the terminal codes. I posted on ubuntubuzz.com

by the way, I ran the same code on my faster PC with 11.04 64bit amd. been to busy to tell you if I have a print capability yet.

Just added the cannon ppa and installed the the driver for the mx420 works great!!!!! $89.00 now at wallyworld wireless scan copy fax all work Great!!!!. Tested on natty 11.04 AMD Phenom II quad core 3.2 16 gig ram.:KS
