Trying to learn Ubuntu has made me want to learn more about all parts of my computer. I am thinking of buying a larger hard drive -- can I just replace the hard drive or are there other components that I have to upgrade at the same time as well.
Thanks

Upgrading your hard drive doesn't require any other parts to be replaced, if it is the usual scenario of replacing with a bigger hard drive.

If it is more than that, eg replacing an IDE drive with a SATA drive, you'll need to know that your computer has the connectors for it.

You may well be able to add the second drive in addition to the original. Handy for backing up, storage ect.
