Hello,I have an installation problem on my hard disk: when I try to install win7 on my system ,the system never react and when I put in the drive ubuntu maverick it starts but the installation stops at 41%.
Ubuntu shows a message telling that:

"The installation encountered an unrecoverable problem, this is due to faulty cd/dvd disk or drive ,or a faulty of hard disk......"

how can I fixe it in order to install any Os??

Note:Before this problem I've been using win 7 ultimate and I made the mistake of transforming my primary hard disk into simple one.

If booth OS installed are having issues, you may be facing a HDD failure.

You can find out by booting off the LiveCD, Selecting 'TRY' and then menu to System >> Administration >> Disk Utility.

Once you select your hard drive, please look at the SMART status (this come from the drive itself and is not affected by the OS being run).

Here is an example of a really bad SMART status:

Please let us know the SMART status of your hard drive.
