Hello guys,
Ive got ubuntu 10.10 installed on my PC.
PC Specs:
AMD Athalon x2 3800
DFI nf4 Ultra-D 939 motherborad

Now my problem is that my cpu fan starts spinning on POST but when it's getting to the GRUB2 bootloader it stops and stays off all the time while ubuntu is running.

When I boot windows 7 the cpu fan works just fine.

Any idea how to solve this? The temperature is rising and i don't want a fried cpu.

Thanks in advance for your help! :D

Are you sure its running in 7?

I'd clean the heatsink, reapply thermal paste, and make sure the CPU_FAN header is properly connected. In the BIOS, make sure that the CPU_FAN (or whatever setting it is) is set to Auto.
