Hi all.

I have a Hewlett Packard Omnibook HP XE2 and would like to install Linux on it. I would like to have a minimal window manager and apache2 on it. There are a few general discussions about the XE2 in the internet but they are relatively old:

This is why I open a new thread. Is there anybody who is using exactly this machine? Any experiences with recent Ubuntu systems (with LXDE, etc., no Gnome, KDE), (Ubuntu < 10.04)?

I would like to use something light and compatible to Debian/Ubuntu/Mint. However, all distributions (xUbuntu 10.10 or Debian NetInstall) failed so far. They couldn't load the X server somehow or had some problems with my TRENDNET PCMCIA wireless card. Only Putty 5.2 (lupu-525.iso) is well running, which is based on Ubuntu (to some extend)! Shall I use may be BSD?

Any comments related to the XE2 only are highly acknowledged! ):P
