I was using Windows XP and recently I tried to install Ubuntu 10.10 inside windows XP (dual boot). For this I have assigned E: drive which has 23 GB but while installing ubuntu I gave only 5 GB for Ubuntu out of 23 GB. Currently I am mesmerized by the Ubuntu performance and I am installing and using lot of apps, which resulted around 4.5GB of memory occupied.

So, is there a possibility to extend the Ubuntu memory space from 5 GB to 23 GB, without re-installing Ubuntu again (so that my existing installation will be as-is)

Thanks in advance.

Siva

This may help you find an answer. Wubi Megathread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10207564#post10207564)

If you really like Ubuntu, maybe you should consider a fresh install where Ubuntu isn't depending on windows. Wubi is only meant to try Ubuntu. If windows goes down, it takes Ubuntu with it. That's not a true dual boot imho.

Sorry I couldn't answer your question directly. Not a whole lot of us know much about Wubi.

Besides, for your future backup / migration issues with ubuntu, you may like Remastersys (http://geekconnection.org/remastersys/) as well. It creates a live backup dvd of your current installation with all your installed applications and settings, which you can use both in live mode, and also to install it on any other (or same) computer with all those apps & settings.
