Hello, I've just downloaded Ubuntu 10.04. I'm trying to set it up as a virtual machine in VMWare Workstation 6.0.2. I'm booting from the ISO image (as CD-ROM).

The setup starts, I get the graphical ubuntu icon and flashing dots. However, then, the setup switches to a shell. A lot of text quickly rushes over the screen, and then I'm landing in a shell prompt and it stops. Any ideas what happened, and how to go further?

My machine is runing on Windows 7 64-bit.
The virtual machine has the following settings:
- Memory 3 GB RAM
- Hard Disk 100 GB IDE
- CD-ROM is the ISO image
- Floppy Auto-detect (none)
- Ethernet Bridged
- USB Controller Present
- Sound Adapter Auto-detect (disconnected --> no effect)
- Display 1 Monitor 1024x768 max. Resolution
- Processors 1
- Guest OS System: Linux/Ubuntu 32-Bit

Kind regards
