You can check the OMG! Ubuntu! posts with Kubuntu on the tags: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/tag/kubuntu/

Cheers

Thanks, I've already done that. But they are just a few and not so frequent.

But Ubuntu has Unity, **** Unity! :guitar:
(I wonder if people realize you can still use Gnome2 in 11.04)

You might be better off just looking for KDE. Aside from the netbook workspace, Kubuntu's KDE isn't much different from upstream.

A Kubuntu dev's blog I just happened to remember.

You're welcome Gavdari.

KDE netbook is from upstream KDE.

Kubuntu changed it to include the menubar. They even patched Qt to do it, which is why that plasmoid won't compile on any other distro.

is this what you're talking about?

Cause it looks fine. I suppose Canonical does contribute to upstream.....

This (http://www.kubuntu.org/files/10.10-release-announce/global_menu.png) is what I'm talking about. It's the global menu in button mode. It's meant to give more vertical space.

Kubuntu netbook wasn't the only reason they did this. The main reason was so that Qt/KDE apps would be able to have a global menu in Unity.

I see...
I dislike the Unity global menu, a lot. It's not obvious, or easy to use. Everything else is cool though.

Yep, and if you're interested in KDE itself, KDE's own blog has a constant stream of juicy info:

It didn't really, was more a rant to all the "Unity sucks, I'm switching to KDE"-threads that have been popping up.

I'm not implying this is why YOU chose Kubuntu. We all have different taste and we all enjoy the freedom of Linux.

Well, I do believe that Unity sucks. But that's not the reason. ;)
