I have a wireless mouse (Dynex Wireless Mouse) and a HP Mini 110 computer running

Ubuntu 10.10 (Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 10.10
Release: 10.10
Codename: maverick

and the mouse keeps disconnecting off the left or right side of the USB port every couple minutes or if I do not touch or move the mouse for a couple minutes.

Is there any way disconnect by using the terminal to disconnect the port and reconnect it without un-plugging the usb connection device so the mouse can connect. Or if the is a update that I should try out please let me know.

Please let me know if you need any more information

I think what is happening to you is the mouse is shutting off transmission when it has not been moved for a while (to save power) and then not connecting back up properly when you do eventually move it.

I have a wireless keyboard with a trackball that also stops transmitting when left untouched to save power, but once I do hit a key or 'roll the ball' it reconnects to the little USB receiver instantly so I rarely even notice the delay on re-power-up. I type on it all the time (even now) and it works very well

I think your particular wireless mouse is just not designed well.

Most likely, you will need to select a different model (or use a wired one).
