Hi and welcome to UF

Although I recommend staying with 10.04 as it is the current LTS (Long Term Release) and is supported until April 2013.
10.10 is only supported until April 2012.

You may want to try the alternate cd install.

i can install and use 10.04 but the problem is persisting with 11.04 beta also. and its scraing me what if i cant use any of the version which is released after 10.04..
i have tried alternate cd install. i havent tried wubi becasue i have only 10gig of hdd space reserved for ubuntu and dual boot will require a lot more space.

10.04 is good for 2 more years. That's longer than 10.10 or 11.04.

10.04 is supported until April 2013
10.10 is supported until April 2012
11.04 is supported until October 2012

If you're worried about that, you're trying to install the wrong one.
Stick with 10.04. I don't think I'd be worried about something 2 years from now.

Dutch70 hit the nail on the head. Stick with what works. If 10.04 is working for you, keep it.

If you want install 10.10, 11.04, burn the image at the slowest speed possible. Make certain that your drive is clean as is the disc. I have had a few disc hang at the "Peter Irwin" and after a quick wipe off and cleaning of the drive they worked.

PS: its Peter Anvin!

You'll have to reinstall 10.10, but please start your own thread when you have a question.
That's what the forums are for.
