Ubuntu 11.04 Unity not saving favorites

Every time I logout and log back in the Unity panel resets to its default state. I'd like it to save my favourite applications and their locations on the panel. I'm completely updated and thought this might be a permission issue or some such. I wanted to see if anyone had this problem or if anyone knew where unity saved its files before I filed a false bug report.

yeah - i just upgraded yesterday and am experiencing the same thing: my favorites and the items in my dash reset to the defaults upon logout.

another thing: i'm not sure what the "about me" app is about, but it also doesn't preserve information. as soon as i close it, the information i've entered is gone.

i know nothing about Unity, but it seems that something somewhere is lacking the correct permissions to write these changes.

anyone else?
