View Full Version : [ubuntu] Wtd buy Laptop for Australia? -

For some unknown reasons it is very difficult to buy, in Australia, any decent laptop compatible for UBUNTU? Anyone has any solutions?...

I have looked at the
list of notebooks but this is not for Australian conditions (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupport/Machines/Netbooks)

Most of this list does not correspond to the Australian conditions. Which is a pity.
I've tried to buy a Dell Inspirion for the USA but I was told by Dell USA,I will not receive it unless I know someone in the USA..Inspirion or latitude (http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?s=gen&c=us&l=en&cs=&k=ubuntu+laptop&cat=all&ref=ac)... crazy ](*,)

What laptop with or without WIN7 can I buy from Australia to install dual boot Ubuntu 10+?

I looked at Dell laptop-Vostro 3550 special but the Dell support for Australia in Malaysia said it does not work with Ubuntu.. Is this true? ...Malaysia Dell center say anything to sell their Dell Laptops products... even given me quote from Malaysia.
3days special sale in Australia (http://au.dell.com/PS!pD0BDnfbRxsFBgIAAAAGCgFICgc3MjUxNDg5CgoxNjY1MjE 1NDk5CQAL0OkKCTEwNzc5ODk1NgU=?bundle1=&bundle2=&bundle3=&bundle4=&bundle5=&bundle6=&email_addr=gnh888%40gmail.com&link_id=20480944&masthead=)

I have an Asus & be happy to get an other one more powerful processor etc..but not EEE PC.
Which Asus is compatible with U10+?

Any advise appreciated.):P
