I just got a new graphics card for my PC. It's the ATI XFX Radeon HD 6850 Black Edition. I installed the drivers listed in the "Additional Drivers" menu but when I restarted my PC, Ubuntu would not boot. It loads until right before it gets to the login screen. I rebooted into recovery mode and booted in failsafe graphics mode. then I uninstalled the drivers for the card provided by the Ubuntu Repositories and rebooted regularly. This time I was able to login to the desktop but now the screen looks horrible because there are no drivers installed for my card. Which drivers to I need to get to make my card work properly? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

This worked perfectly, you are the bomb, I've been googling for hours. most important part is removing the old ones!
