Hello there,
I tried to find some online documentation, but well, there isnt too much ...
Just wondering:
a) is unity just about a new way to launch applications?
In other words: is there a new window manager, or still compiz in the background?
b) I am a big fan of using several desktops.
But I really dislike the fact, that with gnome/compiz, that I have to select the "ring shifter" when i want to switch to applications that reside on a different desktop.
With KDE, I just select the entry "All desktops" for the "List window" setting. Done.
So ... will unity bring some relief to me; or is it still gnome-style-ring-shift for me?
c) another big dislike with gnome is the fact that I cant give preferences for audio devices.
Every time I add/remove USB headsets, I have to check the sound preferences panel to make sure that the "correct" audio device is selected.
In KDE I have a list of devices, and I can change the order; so KDE will do the right thing every time ... without me doing anything.
Will that be "changed" by unity? Or is unity relying on the gnome-its-fixed-if-you-dont-like-our-settings-we-dont-care-haha-haha apps for all other stuff?
any feedback welcome,
