View Full Version : [ubuntu] Wine sound and Wi-Fi in 10.10 doesn't work

Hi,
I installed Ubuntu 10.04 in August 2010. It was working fine, until I upgraded it to 10.10 about 3 days ago. Everything is fine except two things.
First, when I use any application under Wine, the sound stopped working (it worked before in 10.04).
Second, worse issue I have now is that when I plug off my power adapter and when I start using my laptop on battery, my Wi-Fi stops working and to make it working again, I must plug it in electricity and restart whole system.
If you need any information about my hardware or software, I may post it here.
Thank You
Asaru

Hi.

For your sound problem, launch wine and go into preferences

and on the "audio" tab, make sure you have "alsa" selected.

Hi.

and on the "audio" tab, make sure you have "alsa" selected.

Thanks a lot, the upgrade probably deselected it, and I forgot to check it (it was a long time when I was setting it for the first time)

So the first part is solved. Anyone have any idea on the second part?
I found a wireless info script on this forum, if that could be any help to you, what's happening, I'm posting it here (I did "Retrieve network status information" in that script)...
