They ruined Sesame Street. All this bs on why kids shouldn't be exposed to certain things. Why in the love of kittens would you change a blue monster from a cookie fiend to a vegetable fiend I don't know.

At least I can relive the fun of my childhood by watching the original on Youtube.

I think what bothered me more was seeing the cancelled Katy Perry "Hot and Cold" Sesame Street video. The production values were hysterically low, but also the fact that mainstream media and pop commercialism was being pushed on toddlers in that way just really kind of bothered me.

Sesame Street rots the brain. I'm living proof of that.

The Spanish version is really good for those of us who are learning Spanish. Watching kids TV shows and reading kids books are some of the best way to learn languages (as long as you are doing course too)

Kids need to learn more about sarcasm than about cookies. I approve.

I have never seen any episode of it so I don't know what's going on :) I just wonder if somebody, somehwere in outer space brodcasts my favourite series from childhood - Johny Bravo. Probably not but hope dies last:)

Cookie Monster, several months back, had a spot about eating healthy foods, too. There was an uproar from all the people who were too young to remember Cookie Monster's "Healthy Foods!" song from the 80s. If anything, Sesame Street has been a little risqué on occasion, lately. I still think it's a great service that it does.

I don't have any nostalgia for it - I just think of it as a very useful educational tool. The pedagogical research that goes into that series is fairly impressive.

I was raised in French but have no memories of learning english though i speak it fluently watching this show at a young age is responsible for that. So i think it's good;)

I think it sucks too. It's really quite boring and patronizing for kids. Hi-5 is really a lot better, even if the cast isn't as good as the earlier cast.

The problem is, lots of parents are too stupid to provide their kids a balanced diet and to teach them that most of what you see on TV is not real life (omg, yes even reality tv!).
