Dear Tech Savvy,
I just got a Toshiba laptop with IntelŪ PentiumŪ P6200 Processor, which I'm pretty sure is 64 bits by intel website. I want to run both window 7 and ubuntu. I'm wondering
1. whether I can download and run 32 bits ubuntu on my laptop?
2. Does 64 bits ubuntu work as well?
3. How hard is it to uninstall ubuntu from window 7?

Thanks for your help in advance,

Hi and welcome to UF

1. Try Ubuntu with a live cd or usb stick. The latter is preferred & can be created with Unetbootin (http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/)
2. Works great if your processor is capable.
3. If you're planning to install Ubuntu into windows programs via Wubi...There is a link on this page to "Remove Wubi" as well.

Hi Dutch70,
Thanks for replying my post. Should I try 32 bits or 64 bits if my processor is 64 bits? If I choose option 1, I assume I cannot run both window 7 and linux. Is it correct?

If you're processor is 64-bit, I recommend installing it.

I don't know what you mean by "option 1" There is nothing preventing you from running windows7 & Ubuntu. 32 or 64-bit will not affect that.

By Try Ubuntu, I meant to create a live cd/usb and run Ubuntu from that. You'll be presented with the option of installing or just trying Ubuntu. I'm just recommending that you try it first to make sure it runs well with your hardware.
