i tried to install ubuntu for the first time(10.10), but when booting from the cd, after the loading screen everything crashes and i can't do anything. All i can see is something like this:

i unchecked a couple of options and i finally was able to install it, but the same thing happens after the loading screen when turning on the computer, i can only use ubuntu in the low graphics mode

Some information:
I also have windows installed, i've just formatted the hard drive
Specs:
Pentium 4 3GHz dual core
motherboard asus P5vdc-x
video Pci-ex En7300gs 256mb

Thank you!

EDIT: Nevermind, Ubuntu installed my nvidia driver and it works perfectly! ubuntu is great!

you might want to change graphics to onboard graphics from the BIOS if your video card is not functioning properly.

give it a try. it might help

Hi I am encountering the same issue. I have the same graphics card and am getting the same result as you're showing in the photo.

Can anyone guide me to install ubuntu please? What can I do so at least I manage to see the install options to install Ubuntu and the required driver?

Please help, i'm not a technical person.

Thanks!
