Hello, I want to install Ubuntu on my dad's laptop(currently using winXP). and I saw a netbook version of Ubuntu. Is it ok if I use netbook version or should I use the desktop version? Because I know that laptop is different from netbook.

The desktop version.

(The Netbook version is only usable for ARM-processors)

Canonical / Ubuntu will change the version names:

"Ubuntu": for desktop, laptop and netbook; all x86 system, with a GUI
"Ubuntu Server": for x86, without GUI.

I don't know if the ARM-version will be called "ARM".
