Installing Ubuntu 10.10 on an old IBM M50 Desktop
Intel Pentium 4 3.06 GHz
1.5G RAM
Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Dynamic Video Memory Technology 2.0

Download - check
Burn CD - check
Install using the entire HD - not so much...

Gets to "Who are you?" Enter all info - names, strong pw, require pw to log in AND...

The foward button is greyed out. The status bar says "Ready when you are..."

Killed the install - ran memtest - all clear - tried again - The foward button is greyed out.

When entering your name, make sure it's lowercase letters only.

Remove non-alpha characters (although I imagine that numbers are probably OK.) I had this problem because I usually use 'first.last' as the login name. But, on this screen, you have to remove the period to get the Forward button to be enabled.

It would be nice if it told you what it expected, and even better if its requirement weren't stricter than what Linux allows.
