Hey Guys and Girls

I want to make the switch from Windows to Ubuntu 10.10, people ask me why and i say why not? :).

So i booted up the Live CD and as expected my wifi card didnt work so i checked the proprietary drivers and there was a broadcom STA driver, ok sorted, not quite when i click install it says install archives failed (). So i go for a different approach and just to try i download Linux Mint 10, check the proprietary drivers and what do you know?, the Boradcom B43 driver is there and all i had to do was install.

Problem is i really wanted Ubuntu 10.10 and not Linux Mint 10, so do you guys and girls have any ideas for my open source adventure?

Thanks

John

Hi

I don't follow exactly what happened when you tried to install the STA driver (did you have an ethernet cable plugged in?), but if you want Ubuntu rather than Mint, here's the community page for getting the bcm 43** set of cards working.
