Out of curiosity, I decided to have a look at the files on my latest Dapper live CD. To my amazement, it seems to be filled with .exe and .dll files! :o :-o

I expected that, as the live CD boots up a linux system, the last thing I expected was that it would be running programs in Windows file formats.

What's going on here???

The LiveCD also includes copies of cross-platform open source apps like OpenOffice.org and Firefox that you can install on Windows.

when you insert the livecd to a windows pc, it will launch a browser-like window that allows some opensource software (for windows) to be installed.
