hi, i'm using ubuntu 10.10. i backed up a few softwares from my previous 10.04 installation using the generate package download script option in synaptic but only a few software work on using the " add downloaded packages" option in 10.10 (i never tried to install them offline on 10.04 though). and even if i have all the .deb files generated for each software, it (synaptic) still wants to download some packages from the internet! why??
Am i not following the correct method of using the generate package download script and add downloaded packages option?? if u think so, please explain me how to use these valuable options ( for i dont have internet connection since yesterday n i wont have it for days to come). please help. i am not able to install many software including WINE and VLC and i HAVE all the .debs generated by the synaptic for each software i need. just give me the correct metod to install ubuntu software on offline computers using synaptic. please.
thank you very much.
