Hello all -- I am currently using windows 7.
When I was installing win7, I accidentally deleted the ext4 filesystem that I had ubuntu running on. This partition was actually on another hard disk, which only had one ext4 partition.
I'm not sure, but after the install was complete, windows then displayed that partition as NTFS -- does this mean my data is permanently gone?
I have tried to use testdisk to try to restore the partition table back -- but when I change the partition type back to ext4 and hit "display files", testdisk freezes and doesn't display a list of files. I am not really sure what to do at this point.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you for your help.
