Each time I do a fresh install of Ubuntu, my splash screens work beautifully. Inevitably, I always manage to jack them up in one way or another. I'm a tweaker. I love customizing everything I can customize, including splash screens. I've noticed, however, that after I change the splash screen the very first time, it never works right afterwards, even if I change it back to the default.
The startup splash screen still comes up, but it takes forever. Basically, I get a blank screen with a flashing cursor until just a second or two before the GUI loads and then it finally comes up. Anybody know what might cause this or how I can fix it?
