View Full Version : [ubuntu] 10.10 Upgrade new boot entry

Y'day I installed most of the updates offered for 10.10 under UPDATE MANAGER. After restarting am seeing a new entry 2.6.35-28 in the boot up menu. Attached is an image.
Can someone clarify if this is normal ? will a new version entry be added every time I install new upgrades?

It is just a new kernel resulting from the update.

Hi,
yes this is normal. After a kernel upgrade a new entry is added to the GRUB menu (I believe the maximum is 7).
It is advisable, for troubleshooting purposes, to keep at least one spare kernel on the menu.
