Fresh from the grip of the Forum Censors I wonder how many of you appreciate the major advantage of FOSS ?
Any given business buying, for example, a open source solution for a trading platform is not, irrespective of who delivers the solution, tied to any one company for maintenance and support.
This is not the case with proprietary software where its the norm for a software company to tie in a maintenance contract with the award of a development contract.
Lets face it, with proprietary code who else can deliver the maintenance?
