Hi, have you tried adding boot options?

You need to tell us exactly where in the process you are stuck, else we can not help you.

Meanwhile 11.04 has been released. You could also try this one.

the links you have given me are for some blank screen problem... i dont seem to have that . i can clearly log in and see my desktop but within a few seconds my whole system(mouse ,keyboard ,power button etc) freezes. sometimes it freezes at the login screen itself...

Boot options help solving a lot of different problems, not only black screen.

For how long is the computer stable, if you run a Xubuntu 11.10 live boot?

Please note that I didn't talk of installing Xubuntu 11.10. However, testing this distro might be an important data point for comparison with 10.10.

I don't think I can help you any further. Why do you ask for help if you don't pay attention to the ideas you get?
