How hard is it to take it apart for a fix?
for a dell lattitude d630

Harder than just replacing the whole fan. Where is may take a bit of time to replace parts, for $5-$15 you can just get a new one. The squealing is probably the bearings.

Assuming they still have them, go to the Dell site and DL the "service manual". Not the user manual. For my 1501 there were very detailed instructions on how to disassemble the thing.

Download a service manual for your laptop.

Once you get to the fan, peel the little sticker back covering the bearing and apply one drop of machine oil. This might bring you temporary relief for some time.
