Hello ubuntuforums
Well, the whole issue is that on my facebook whenever i post something about ubuntu or any other open source software, all i get is hate!!, because i have alot of windows 'friends'.
and i don't really have any linux supporters. :(
So what do i want?
if u have facebook, just put ur facebook name here, so i can send you a friend request, that's all, and i'd be very pleased to have open source fans on my friendslist. ^^
So show up brothers!!
Thank you very much. :)

p.s: you can send me a private message if you choose to.

This. It's obviously annoying your friends. That might be their fault, or yours, or a bit of both, but is it really worth the aggro?

When I just moved to Ubuntu I was so excited that I was talking about it a LOT to a lot of people who didn't want to hear about it.

Pick your fights. It's their choice to stay on windows even though you know Ubuntu is so much better.

But! Go ahead and show them compiz, tell them when someone mention a virus or some odd *******ness that you don't defrag, that your file system has a journal, show them compiz. One will try it some day, then help him get his Ubuntu One account and online storage. Share folders together, it will start looking so nice that others might jump on the wagon.

Don't try to actively convert, let them embrace instead. Agree that windows 7 is good and does just what they need it to do.

Of course, now that you've posted about Facebook, you'll probably get plenty of (unjustified) hate here. ;) Give it up and just post youtube videos of a bear being eaten by a salmon, or monkey sexually assaulting a frog; it's what all the cool kids do.

You wont convince people who don't want to be convinced. All operating systems have their good and bad points. Shoving your opinion down someones throat wont cause them to see things the way you do.

Ps. You shouldn't really add strangers to your facebook.

Normally, I'm against people trying to force Linux on others. But when you post on Facebook, you're sharing your thoughts with everyone out there. It's not like he's singling one person out and trying to force a conversation on him. You should be able to post whatever you want on a forum like that. If people don't like it, they can skip over that post. If they don't like anything you ever say, they can hide all your posts or unfriend you.
