Hi I'm new to LINUX,
I installed UBUNTU (downloaded from ubuntu site) in VMWARE...
I was working with few shell scripts &
Now i need to install oracle 10g in linux to get DB access.
I'm unable to install...

i have an oracle10g.rpm file which says i need debian,alien,yum...
I'm extremely confused !

How to install ???
Please help me !

If this (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/express-edition/downloads/102xelinsoft-102048.html) is what are you trying to install then download deb package.

Thanks for the reply. I'll give that a try.
But do i need to download any other thing other than Oracle Debian Package ???
