Hello there! I've noticed that ever since running a dual boot (either on different partitions, or separate hard drives) that Xubuntu is slower than Windows XP, and I was expecting it to actually be the other way around (Xubuntu was supposed to be 'light' and 'fast'). Please don't reccommend other distros like Puppy Linux because I'm tired of constantly switching OS's and having to re-learn everything.

Currently my PC has 1GB of Ram,(Xubuntu's site recommends 256MB) and about 10GB of free hard drive space. I read around, and heard it could be related to a graphics card issue as the CPU may be doing all the work, which would cause slow downs.. Currently, I'm not sure what graphics card my PC is using (or if it doesn't have one??).

Do you think that's the issue? Could you please help me fix this? Thanks!

EDIT: Under system monitor it says I've got a Pentium 4 processor 2.00GHz
