Hey everyone,

Running Ubuntu 10.10, recently installed VLC which another threader said caused his problem... don't know if this caused mine. But various media links in Google Chrome say "Missing Plug-in"; specifically, I've noticed this with both ".mov" and ".avi" extensions.

I've tried the following fix I found in another thread, which didn't solve the problem:

"sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras"

Try disabling the VLC multimedia plugin in Chrome

that solved it, thanks...

I went to "Preferences"...

Clicked "Under the Hood"; under "Privacy", click "Content Settings"; under "Plug-ins" there is an option to "Disable Individual Plug-ins". I disabled "VLC Multimedia Plug-in".
