Hello,

Statistics... I hope it has slightly decreased, and wish all the best.

Several companies have difficulties already due to exportations over the world.

The daily radiation exposure where I live is less than half of the radiation in a banana.

Where I live people don't really care about or believe in things they can't see so it's a non-issue.

The daily radiation exposure where I live is less than half of the radiation in a banana Richard Stallman.

Fixed that for myself :lolflag:

I think radiation is only a problem if you live near Fukushima or next door to the ruins of Chernobyl.

Is it too early for XKCD?

Find your local radiation dosage. http://www.new.ans.org/pi/resources/dosechart/

You may or may not be surprised by the answers. Radiation has always been around us. There isn't much you can do about it.

Basically, yeah.

343.03799999999995 mrem. I do live about 150 miles away from a nuclear power plant.

or, about 4.060380 mSv

Odd how a coal fired plant is more radioactive than a nuclear power plant.

I use the banana-creme pie scale.
My location has a radiation level equivalent to about 2.5 banana-creme pies per day.
But because of that I'm at much higher risk of congestive heart failure than cancer.

Also, if you don't open your windows, your house fills with radon and you die of cancer.

Or something.

Found that a bit strange too, but eh. Maybe more Carbon-14s in coal? :-k

I do live within a mile of three coal plants actually. Two for the university, one for my city.

Coal power stations burn so much coal that all the isotopes from the coal end up in the air. Plus, there's so much radioactive stuff in the ground, some of it's bound to end up in coal. I know most mines are radioactive to a large degree.

4.060380 mSv is a lot. Is it over a year?

I did your test at http://www.new.ans.org/pi/resources/dosechart/

Your Estimated Annual Radiation Dose / over a year:
4186.002 mrem
is it a lot ?

The calculator says yearly.
