I am an undergraduate student(first year) in computer science and I am interested in learning a bit in speech recognition. At the CMU Sphinx wepbage they recommend reading "Spoken Language Processing" but I find that book too expensive and too advanced for me. I would prefer a simplier book not beeing too techy but giving out the fundamentals of speech recognition and the reasons each method is used. Any recommendations? Google doesn't give anything.
