no opportunity to create password

Hi.
I just completed a new install of 10.10. I did not see any step asking me to create any passwords during the install, so now (of course) I do not have one and do not have access to su authorization. I am perfectly willing to reinstall, but where is the step to create a password? Thank you.

You can see the steps you go through including setting the password in the following link. I'm not recommending you use this tutorial, because I don't know how you're installing Ubuntu.
