No sound in wine

I am running Ubuntu 10.10 netbook edition on a Samsung N145 netbook. I'm using wine for several (well, two) programs, and it's working fine except that I have no sound in Spotify, which I'm running through wine. I tried typing "winecfg" in the terminal. On my otherwise nice and pretty fast netbook, this dialogue takes forever to switch tabs or do anything, and when I click on the "Test audio" button under the Audio tab, the whole thing hangs up and stops responding to anything whatsoever. I'm suspecting this has something to do with why Spotify won't make a sound.
