Hi,
I just bought my new laptop, I love and use linux ( Kubuntu ). My question is should I wait for the new version of k/ubuntu to come out ( about 3-4 weeks i think ) or just intsall 10.10 and then upgrade in a few weeks. It just i have often heard of bad things happening after upgrades.

For the moment i can use my old computer to get me by till 11.04

Thanks

I personally don't have much experience with Kubuntu but almost every normal Ubuntu i upgraded ended up not being as good as a fresh install.
I suggest you wait.

Wait and do a clean installation.

IMHO, because of gnome 3.0 and compiz clashes you should wait to avoid incompatibilities. Totally worth waiting.

You can install Kubuntu 11.04 today if you like, you don't need to wait until next month:

If you install the Alpha, it should seamlessly update to the final release when available. :)

Test it in virtual box first and see if you like it.

The step from 10.10 to 11.04 is a major one, unlike the step from 10.04 to 10.10.

If you decide to go for 11.04, wait until a month or two after release.
