Just got a brand-new Kindle, but I'm running Ubuntu 10.4.

Among other things, I'd like to shift some pdfs from my hard-drive to Kindle.

Is there any way to do it?

Just connect your Kindle to the computer with the USB cable. Ubuntu should recognize it as a removable drive. Then just drag and drop.

Make sure that you drop those files into the Document folder on the Kindle. They must be in that folder for the Kindle to recognize them.

BTW, PDF files generally don't look very good on the Kindle. Some of them are downright impossible to read. Did you know that you can have the files converted to the Kindle format and sent to your Kindle for free? Yes, that is a service that Amazon provides.
