Hello,
This is my first thread on the forum. I'm having too many problems since I installed Ubuntu 10.10 this month, as my first experience with Linux. Yesterday I was desperately going to return to MS W7, but when I start searching for the Key Gens, I remembered why I changed to a Linux based OS. So here I come with my first doubt.

I have two internal HD: SATA WD160 for OS (Ubuntu1010); SATA WD500 for Data.
I'm not sure why Ubuntu recognize my second drive as an external drive. This make me ask to myself if the units are correctly partitioned.

I would appreciate a short explanation of partition types used in Linux. Do I have to use FAT for only data disk? Which is the most used offset?

Thanks for your help!

Ok thanks Frogs Hair. Finally I format both disks in Ext4. Now format types are clear to me and I don't care about Windows compatibility no more.
Regards!
