I have recently installed ubuntu to my 80gb hard drivealongside windows, but I figured windows was a waste because I did not use it. I delted the windows partition and now it is unallocated, I wanted to replace the unallocated portion by extending my ubuntu partition, but there is a 1mb seperation not allowing me to do this. any help?

just use GParted to make another extended partition. Should be fine.
