I have a windows PC which has some important files scattered all over the "my documents" folder. (you can read more about it here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1709976).

Now, I have two problems with installing Ubuntu.
1.
I have a Genius mousepad and a Huawei modem. Neither has good drivers for Ubuntu BUT workable (imperfect) solutions are available..
2.
Also, I have an Nvidia graphics card, but I can't try it out because I can't install the Nvidia proprietary driver on my live USB.

All things considered, I have decided that I would like to go for a full install onto the HardDrive. However, I am a a little worried about something going wrong. This PC is CRITICAL..
So.. should I try WUBI or just go ahead and do a traditional installation ? (I have a nice vacant partition on the harddrive)

i'm not a wubi fan, so i prefer virtualbox for testing

or if you try a real install:

If you just want to try Ubuntu for a limited time, use Wubi.
